priorities

things that have made me happy today:

• the way brick buildings and old-fashioned streetlamps look in the rain
• ginger sugar cookies
• this picture
  
• radio paradise
• Percy's fluffy tail
• eating lunch with Dunc
• planning far-off vacations
• making good flowcharts for work
• Roddy Doyle
• the possibility, no matter how small, that Liverpool will thump Chel$ki at the weekend
  

things that have made me unhappy today:

• Ben is having brain surgery tomorrow to remove a small cyst
  
• our leasing company still has not sent us our lease renewal to sign
• the dog is not eating much of his food
• several panicky moments when I thought the backup server ate a tape
• I broke one of my favorite BNL cds
  

I think overall I've come out well on top, but I'm pretty anxious to hear that Ben's surgery has been completed successfully. not much else matters, really, except maybe the Liverpool match.
